OYAP - Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program
Currently available for Hairstylist, Transportation,
Manufacturing, Landscaping (click name for a pdf brochure)
The WOSS Apprenticeship Training Program:

s a Ministry approved program
- Enables the student to complete the training required preceding their on the job apprenticeship

Enables students to complete OSSD requirements while completing their apprenticeship training

Many professionals including doctors, lawyers, engineers and nurses do similar on the job learning as part of their training and certification
- Begin apprenticeship training while completing your secondary school diploma

Reduce apprenticeship time by 1 1/2 years

Get your foot in the door with a potential employer
- Attend college level program without paying tuition

Opportunity for qualifications in CPR and First Aid

Individualized instruction

Be registered as an apprentice with an employer and the government while still attending high school

FAMS - Ford Academy of Manufacturing Sciences

FAMS offers secondary school students entering grade 11 a chance to develop skills and knowledge in Math, Science, and Technology through integration in a manufacturing environment. Students will then apply the skills and knowledge through internships in a wide variety of manufacturing and business environments.

FAMS is...
- A half day program offered in the mornings first and second semester in both Grade 11 and Grade 12
- A ten credit program
- University destination students earn 2 Math (Gr. 11 Functions & Gr. 12 Geometry and Discrete Math),
..........2 Physics, 4 Manufacturing Technology and 2 Summer Co-op credits
- College destination students earn 2 Math (College or University), 2 Physics, 4 Manufacturing
..........Technology, 2 Summer Co-op credits, and 1 optional Robotics.

Halton Home Builders Program

The Halton Home Builders Program, in partnership with the Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic District School Board, provides a unique opportunity for students to participate in the building of a home. Students also earn work for an employer(s) in the community.

The Halton Home Builders Program is a four credit, one semester program, in which students experience the many skilled trades available in the home building industry while building a house from the ground up.
